Today is Monday and the Thanksgiving Holiday is upon us all here in the United States. Why is Thanksgiving so important? Because we are able to reflect upon the goodness of God throughout the year. Father, you have been so good to us. We want you to know that. Just like Clint Brown says, “Where would I be, you only know…”
As we approach our Wednesday Night Thanksgiving Service, I wanted to take a few moments to talk about a few things that I am grateful this year.
1. I am grateful for God’s keeping power. The God that is able to save is the God that is able to keep.
2. I am grateful for family. Someone once said, “You can choose your friends but you cannot choose your family.” Sometimes it is difficult to deal with loved one’s but I thank God that they bring the best out in us all. My wife and my children really do that for me. I thank God for that.
3. I am grateful for friends. Friendships are relationships that can really bring joy, companionship, understanding, and support. I thank God that they help me relax and just chill. I can really be myself with them.
4. I am grateful for my church. When you enter into a battle, choose the right people. I can’t think of a better group of people to choose, then VOSD. Thank God for soldiers in the army of the Lord.
What are you grateful for this year? I believe that there are people who are grateful for many things this year. Maybe you were healed from a sickness? Maybe you witnessed the transformation of a loved one? Maybe you are just grateful to be alive? Whatever you are grateful for, be sure to join us for Wednesdays service, “A Night of Giving Thanks”. We will be having a special concert with VO’s own Rudy Cruz. He is a powerful singer and song writer. We will also be hearing a special word from my wife, Georgina. Make sure to bring your family and friends and come ready to have a great time. Let’s give thanks together.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Pastor Al
